3day 2night trip for a family of 5 for $260 bucks.

I used to be the mom that bought everything for my children. Okay okay I still am that mom kind of. However I am learning to make my children’s birthdays and holidays more bout the experience then the gifts. Yes of course I still get my children gifts. Just not a 100 of them like I would have five or six years ago. Now we buy a few gifts. Then we go on some sort of an adventure. Our last adventure was into the mountains. Oh man it was beautiful. We didn’t spend very much on this adventure. My suv is really amazing on gas. So I filled up with $35 dollars. I am that mom that try’s to buy nothing at regular price.🤦🏼‍♀️ I cant help it I love a good deal. So I got on hotels.com. (They did not sponsor this. However if you do hotels.com shoot me a email😝) I like using them because once you have stayed in a hotel ten nights you get one free. Now who doesn’t like a free night in a hotel. I looked for a hotel. Now I had some stipulations for this hotel. One being my kids are water bugs and since it’s winter. It had to have a indoor pool. I also have two fur babies. So the hotel had to allow pets. It wouldn’t be a true get away if the fur babies didn’t come. Now the most important thing was it had to be at a decent price. I am not spending 100 bucks a night. At lest not on this trip. So here I went on the hunt. I found a room for 55 a night pets stayed free. We were staying two nights. It met all of the things I needed for it to meet. So the total with taxes came out to be 122.53. Bam not bad at all. So we drove three and half hours away. When we got to the hotel we only used a quarter of gas. ( I told y’all my suv is ammmmazing on gas). I checked into the hotel. Only to find out that hotels did reserve my room. Ohhhh no! However the front desk was amazing and since there was an issue the front desk said no problem I’ll book it from here and give you a discount for your troubles. Wait what? Did I hear that right? A discount for my troubles? Yep he ended up getting my stay to a total of 85 dollars even with taxes included. Y’all I didn’t even ask him to discount it. However I’ll take it. So at this point with gas, hotel, and snacks because you know babies need snacks. I have spent 140 bucks. Mind you the snacks I brought along I got at the grocery store the day before we left and that was added into my grocery budget. So if you don’t count that it would be 120. What I was originally going to pay for both nights at the hotel. So we go swimming. My kids and husband decided they were hungry. Of course they wanted pizza. So being the bargain mom I am. I ordered Pizza Hut. I got three large pizzas. With two different 8 piece chicken wings. 3 two liters of soda. Since I have points with Pizza Hut I only spent 20 bucks. Not bad for a first night. So the next morning we got up and traveled up the mountains. Took pictures burned a little gas. Went exploring. We decided that we were all hungry and we splurged at a amazing mom and pop restaurant. The total for five people came out to be 30 bucks. We even took home left overs. Since it was our youngest sons birthday. We went to a awesome speedway place. That I went to as a child. It was decently priced. We road go carts. My children panned for gold and mineral stones. (We bought a big bag that had stuff in it. So you knew you where getting something) We spent about 40 bucks there. Again a family of five. We then made our way to the local park. They where having a day of the dead event. It was free. The kids got face paintings. We got to listen to a live band. The kids got to decorate cookies and play in jumping houses. We stayed there for a few hours. We then made our way to Walmart. To get cupcakes. We spent a whooping $1.43 for 12 of them. We got sandwich stuff which brought our total to 15 bucks. We went back to the hotel ate, had cake, played with our now three year olds toys. Watched movies. The next day we filled back up. At this point I think we put 10 or 15 bucks in. We drove home. So to over estimate and adding the snacks that I included in the grocery bill. We spent 260 bucks for a three day two night stay. For a family of five. This included hotel, gas, food, and activities. I have to say not to shabby. Vacation adventure on a budget.
